Steps to make Spring Cabbage and Pork Belly with Miso:
  1. I used thick pork belly for yakiniku. Thin pork belly slices or any meat variety works too. Cut the meat in half and boil.
  2. Mix all the ● ingredients.
  3. Wash the cabbage and tear the leaves by hand. The right one is spring cabbage. It's soft and delicious.
  4. Diagonally cut the white leek. Cut the green pepper into 5 mm lenghthwise.
  5. Heat a deep frying pan with oil and add the ginger and garlic. Cook over low heat until fragrant.
  6. When fragrant, add the leek and green pepper, and cook over medium heat.
  7. When everything is cooked, add the cabbage and when it's half cooked, add the boiled pork.
  8. Once you stir the pan, add the ● ingredients. The sauce is rather sweet, so I recommend you add doubanjiang to your liking. Cook until the sauce is slightly reduced.
  9. I received feedback from users that using red miso would make the dish saltier. In Ehime prefecture, we use wheat miso, which is paler in color (although it is still different from white miso). I recommend using blended miso.

Foods That Can Make You Happy

Many of us have been conditioned to think that comfort foods are terrible and to be avoided. If your comfort food is candy or junk food this holds true. Otherwise, comfort foods can be really healthy and good for you. A number of foods really do elevate your mood when you consume them. If you are feeling a little bit down and you’re needing an emotional pick me up, try a number of these.

Eggs, you may be astonished to find out, are terrific at fighting depression. Just make sure that you don’t toss out the egg yolk. The egg yolk is the most essential part of the egg iwhen it comes to helping raise your mood. Eggs, particularly the egg yolks, are rich in B vitamins. These B vitamins are wonderful for helping to elevate your mood. This is because they improve the function of your brain’s neural transmitters (the parts of the brain that tell you how to feel). Consume an egg and feel better!

Make a trail mixout of a variety of seeds and nuts. Peanuts, cashews, sunflower seeds, almonds, pumpkin seeds, etcetera are all terrific for helping to boost your mood. This is because seeds and nuts have lots of magnesium which increases your brain’s serotonin levels. Serotonin is known as the “feel good” substance that our body produces and it tells your brain how you should be feeling day in and day out. The more of it you have, the happier you are going to feel. Nuts, on top of bettering your mood, can be a superb source of protein.

Cold water fish are good if you would like to feel happier. Salmon, herring, tuna, mackerel, trout, etc, they’re all chock-full of omega-3s and DHA. These are two things that raise the quality and the function of your brain’s gray matter. It’s the truth: consuming tuna fish sandwiches can actually help you battle your depression.

Grains can be good for fighting a terrible mood. Millet, quinoa, barley, etc are great at helping you be happier. These grains can help you feel full for longer also, which can help your mood too. Feeling starved can be awful! The reason these grains are so good for your mood is that they are not hard to digest. You digest them faster than other things which can help increase your blood sugar levels, which, in turn, helps make you feel more pleasant, mood wise.

Green tea is wonderful for moods. You just knew green tea had to be mentioned, right? Green tea is loaded with a particular amino acid called L-theanine. Research has discovered that this amino acid stimulates the production of brain waves. This will better your brain’s focus while also calming the rest of your body. You already knew green tea could help you feel better. And now you are aware that it can help raise your mood too!

Now you know that junk food isn’t necessarily what you need to eat when you want to help your moods get better. Try a few of these hints instead.
