The ingredients needed to make Choc Chip Banana Baked Proats 🍌🍫:

  6. Take 1/2 tbsp protein chocolate spread, (I used Grenade brand)
  7. Prepare 1 tsp raw organic cacao nibs (optional)
  8. Get Equipment needed:
  9. Prepare 1 small cast iron skillet
Steps to make Choc Chip Banana Baked Proats 🍌🍫:
  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. In a bowl add the oats, diet whey and baking powder and gently mix together until well combined.
  2. Begin adding almond milk bit by bit then stirring well, to ensure a nice smooth semi-thick consistency. I find it's best to almost beat the mixture to get more air into it, so you get a fluffier end result.
  3. Add in the Choc chips. Gently fold them into the mixture. Pour the mixture out into the skillet and using the back of a metal spoon, even it out and push it up to all edges neatly.
  4. Bake in the oven for around 15 minutes or until the top has formed a nice crust and it's still slightly springy to the touch. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a couple of minutes. Melt the chocolate protein spread by blitzing it in the microwave for a few seconds in a small dish then using a spoon drizzle it over the baked oats. If you don't have a microwave simply dollop it on top and allow to melt. Garnish with some cacoa nibs. Eat and enjoy. :)

Use Food to Boost Your Mood

In general, people have been taught to think that “comfort” foods are terrible for the body and should be avoided. Sometimes, if the comfort food is candy or another junk food, this holds true. Otherwise, comfort foods can be very nutritious and good for you. There are some foods that basically can raise your moods when you consume them. When you are feeling a little down and are needing an emotional pick-me-up, try a couple of these.

Eggs, believe it or not, are great for helping you combat depression. Just be sure that you don’t get rid of the egg yolk. The yolk is the part of the egg that is the most crucial in terms of helping you cheer up. Eggs, particularly the yolks, are full of B vitamins. These B vitamins are great for helping to boost your mood. This is because they help in improving the function of your neural transmitters, the components of your brain that affect your mood. Eat some eggs to feel better!

Put together several trail mix of nuts or seeds. Your mood can be elevated by consuming peanuts, almonds, cashews, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, etcetera. This is because these foods are rich in magnesium, which helps to boost serotonin levels. Serotonin is the “feel good” natural substance that dictates to your brain how you feel at all times. The more serotonin in your brain, the happier you’ll feel. Not just that but nuts, in particular, are a terrific protein source.

Cold water fish are great if you want to feel better. Salmon, herring, tuna fish, mackerel, trout, and so on, they’re all chock-full of omega-3s and DHA. Omega-3 fatty acids and DHA are two things that really help the grey matter in your brain function a lot better. It’s the truth: consuming tuna fish sandwiches can actually help you battle your depression.

It’s not difficult to drive away your bad mood when you eat grains. Quinoa, millet, teff and barley are all actually excellent for helping boost your happiness levels. They fill you up better and that can help you with your moods also. It’s easy to feel depressed when you feel hungry! The reason these grains are so good for your mood is that they are not hard to digest. They are easier to digest than other foods which helps raise your blood sugar levels and that, in turn, elevates your mood.

Green tea is really good for your mood. You knew it had to be included in this article, right? Green tea has a lot of an amino acid called L-theanine. Studies have shown that this amino acid actually induces brain waves. This will better your brain’s focus while also calming the rest of your body. You knew green tea could help you feel better. And now you know green tea can help improve your mood as well!

Now you know that junk food isn’t necessarily what you should eat when you wish to help your moods get better. Try several of these instead!
