Steps to make Hina Doll Prince and Princess Shaped Temari-zushi (round sushi balls):
  1. Cook 5 rice cooker cups of rice with the 'sushi rice' water level, and make sushi rice. 130 g sugar, 125 g rice vinegar, 10 g salt is my recipe for the sushi vinegar - we like it on the sweet side.
  2. Make the face parts. Cut the nori seaweed with kitchen scissors. Use the rounded part of a heart shaped piece of ham.
  3. Use some broccolini boiled in salt water to decorate the prince's head. Use a carrot flower cooked in soy sauce for the princess.
  4. Cut the crab sticks into quarters. Make scrambled eggs (iri tamago); I flavor mine with sugar and salt.
  5. Prepare the sakura denbu and salmon flakes. If you want to use other ingredients, make them ready also.
  6. Spread out a piece of plastic wrap and arrange the face directly on the plastic wrap. When making the princess, place a carrot flower on her head, and when making the prince, place a piece of broccolini on his head. Place the hair parts afterwards.
  7. If you place the nori eyes, ham mouth, and sakura denbu cheeks towards the center of the rice ball, it will look very cute.
  8. Gently top with sushi rice, add the filling and then very gently add a bit more sushi rice.
  9. Lift up the 4 corners of the plastic wrap and form it into a ball.
  10. Make the prince in the same way.
  11. These are great in bentos too. Make lots of carrot flowers to use as decoration, and to make the bento very cute.

Foods That Make You Happy

A lot of us have been taught to believe that comfort foods are not good and are to be avoided. Often, if your comfort food is a high sugar food or another junk food, this is very true. Otherwise, comfort foods can be really nutritious and good for you. Some foods honestly do elevate your mood when you eat them. When you feel a little down and are in need of an emotional pick-me-up, test out some of these.

Eggs, believe it or not, can be truly wonderful at fighting back depression. You must make sure, however, that what you make includes the egg yolk. The egg yolk is the part of the egg that is the most important in terms of helping elevate your mood. Eggs, the yolks in particular, are loaded with B vitamins. The B vitamin family can be fantastic for lifting up your mood. This is because the B vitamins increase the function of your brain’s neural transmitters (the parts of the brain that dictate how you feel). Eat a couple of eggs to feel better!

Make a few trail mix of nuts or seeds. Almonds, cashews, peanuts, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, and so on are all helpful for elevating your mood. This is possible as these foods have a bunch of magnesium which raises serotonin production. Serotonin is referred to as the “feel good” chemical and it tells your brain how you should be feeling all the time. The more serotonin you have, the more pleasant you will feel. Not just that but nuts, particularly, are a great source of protein.

If you want to overcome depression, try consuming some cold water fish. Herring, trout, tuna, wild salmon, and mackerel are all rich in omega-3 fats and DHA. Omega-3 fatty acids and DHA are two things that improve the quality and the function of your brain’s gray matter. It’s true: eating a tuna fish sandwich can earnestly raise your mood.

Grains can be wonderful for driving away a bad mood. Barley, millet, quinoa, etc are fantastic at helping you feel happier. These foods can help you feel full for longer too, which is a mood improver. Feeling famished can really make you feel terrible! These grains can improve your mood as it’s not at all hard for your body to digest them. They are easier to digest than other foods which helps bring up your blood sugar levels and that, in turn, raises your mood.

Green tea is really excellent for your mood. You were just waiting to read that in this article, weren’t you? Green tea has a lot of an amino acid called L-theanine. Research has proven that this amino acid promotes the production of brain waves. This will better your brain’s concentration while also calming the rest of your body. You likely already knew it is not difficult to be healthy when you consume green tea. Now you know it can help you be happier also!

See, you don’t need to eat all that junk food when you want to feel better! Go with these hints instead!
