Steps to make Sriracha Deviled Eggs:
  1. Hard boil 6 large eggs. Cool completely & dry.
  2. Shell the eggs carefully. If shells are sticking to the whites - use a bowl of water to periodically dip the egg in while shelling to help with the process.
  3. Pat shell-less eggs dry with a paper towel. Cut each egg in half long ways. Scoop out the yolk into a bowl. Set whites aside for later use.
  4. To the yolks add the mayonnaise, Sriracha, garlic powder, salt, Old Bay Seasoning, & celery seed. Using a fork mash & mix the ingredients until you achieve a smooth, creamy texture.
  5. Transfer the mixture into a small zipper storage bag or icing piping bag - if using a tip choose one with a larger opening.
  6. Lay out your egg whites on a serving dish. Using a deviled egg dish makes this easier, but if you don't have one, layer chopped lettuce on a regular serving dish, place egg whites on top & the lettuce will help hold the eggs in place. Pat away any moisture collecting on the whites with a paper towel.
  7. Fill each egg white's old yolk divet with the yolk mixture. (If using the storage bag, don't forget to clip one of the bottom corners & use as you would a piping bag)
  8. Garnish with a sprinkle of Old Bay Seasoning & a tiny dallop of Sriracha. (Optional)
  9. Hard boiled egg trouble shooting: 1. Older eggs make better hard boiled eggs, the yolks stay more centered & they are easier to shell. 2. Lay eggs on their sides 30 minutes before cooking to help center the yolks. 3. Hard boiled is achieved between 10 & 15 minutes of cooking time. 4. Add mayonnaise a little at a time to ensure the deviled mixture does not become too runny.

Foods That Make You Happy

In general, people have been trained to believe that “comfort” foods are bad for the body and should be avoided. Often, if your comfort food is a high sugar food or another junk food, this holds true. Otherwise, comfort foods could be extremely healthy and good for you. There are a number of foods that, when you eat them, could better your mood. When you feel a little down and are in need of an emotional pick-me-up, test out a couple of these.

Eggs, believe it or not, can be actually great at fighting back depression. Just be sure that you don’t toss out the egg yolk. The yolk is the part of the egg that matters most in terms of helping you cheer up. Eggs, the yolk in particular, are stuffed full of B vitamins. These B vitamins are fantastic for helping to improve your mood. This is because they help in improving the function of your neural transmitters, the components of your brain that affect your mood. Eat a few eggs to feel better!

Make a trail mix out of seeds and/or nuts. Your mood can be improved by eating peanuts, almonds, cashews, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, and so on. This is because these nuts are high in magnesium, which helps to raise serotonin levels. Serotonin is a feel-good chemical substance that tells the brain how to feel at any given point in time. The higher your levels of serotonin, the better you are going to feel. Not just that, nuts, in particular, are a great source of protein.

If you wish to battle depression, try eating some cold water fish. Cold water fish including tuna, trout and wild salmon are high in DHA and omega-3 fats. These are two things that promote the quality and the function of your brain’s grey matter. It’s the truth: consuming tuna fish sandwiches can really help you overcome your depression.

It’s not difficult to overcome your bad mood when you consume grains. Barley, quinoa, millet, teff, etc are all excellent for helping you feel better. These foods can help you feel full for longer as well, helping you feel better. It’s not difficult to feel low when you are starving! The reason these grains can improve your mood is that they are not difficult to digest. They are easier to digest than other foods which helps bring up your blood sugar levels and that, in turn, elevates your mood.

Green tea is wonderful for moods. You knew green tea had to be in this article somewhere, right? Green tea is rich in a certain amino acid known as L-theanine. Studies have shown that this amino acid basically stimulates brain waves. This helps improve your mental energy while simultaneously making the rest of your body more relaxed. You likely already knew it is not difficult to be healthy when you drink green tea. Now you know it can help improve your mood too!

So you see, you don’t need to stuff your face with junk food when you wish to feel better! Try these suggestions instead!
